Porkins Policy Radio episode 189 Lizzy on Al Kamandjati and how to help in Palestine / George Nader Arrest

This week I am joined once again my good friend Lizzy to discuss her work in Palestine. Lizzy began by talking about her own personal journey which has led her to live and work full time in Ramallah. We discussed her work with Al Kamandjati, a non-profit which offers world-class music lessons for Palestinian children. We talked about the mission of Al Kamandjati and its founder Ramzi Aburedwan. Lizzy talked about Aburedwan’s life growing up in the Al Amari refugee camp and how this led him to create the organization. Lizzy touched on the day to day struggles that Palestinians face including night raids, checkpoints, and violence at the hands of the IDF. She talked about her own personal experiences dealing with this trauma. Lizzy and I talked about several people she knew who were murdered by the IDF and the psychological toll on the families involved. Later we discussed ways for people to get involved. Lizzy talked about the need for people to simply educate themselves about the reality of the situation. We also talked about simple ways for people to organize here in the US. Later we touched on the complacency and apathy in the US when it comes to the plight of the Palestinians, and how we can overcome this.

In the second hour, I change gears and talked about the recent news that international fixer, Trump transition team member, and convicted pedophile, George Nader, was arrested in JFK Airport for possession of child pornography. I talk about the roots of this case which stemmed from his 2018 arrest in Dulles Airport. I touched on his cooperation with Robert Mueller and the strange way he was “let go” and allowed to return to the UAE. I discussed some of the truly heinous charges against Nader. I also talked about what this may mean in the larger context of Trump World.

Porkins Policy Radio episode 103 Helping in Palestine and Armchair Investigators

In the first hour I am joined by my good friend Lizzy to discuss her recent work in Palestine. Lizzy just returned from the town of Beit Sahour where she was teaching music to child refugees. We talk about Her experiences in actually traveling to Palestine from the US and some of the bizarre realities of this process. I also share some of my own personal experience traveling to Palestine and my trouble when leaving Israel. We then move onto the issue of Islamophobia and discuss the realities of it and how it can subconsciously manifest itself. Lizzy discusses how her three years living in Israel affected her views on Palestinians, even manifesting into irrational fears based on lies. Lizzy also talks about her co-workers in Palestine and their experiences being jailed by the Israeli military. Later the two of us talk about the racist undertones of Israeli youth, and how they have isolated themselves from the reality that is all around them. We also finish talk about why young people are not more involved in the plight of the Palestinians. We finish off by discussing Lizzy’s college’s squeamishness with her writing on her experience in Palestinian which they deemed to “political.”

In the second hour I talk about some recent “revelations” regarding the Jeffrey Epstein case and why I think we should be careful about reading too much into them. I talk about the latest armchair experts who have emerged on Twitter claiming to have all the answers and smoking guns about the case and its relationship to Trump. I place particular focus on a man called Claude Taylor who has recently garnered quite a bit of attention both in the alternative and mainstream media for his Tweets on Trump and Epstein. I talk about his credentials as a White House Staffer and other issues I have with his story. I also talk about this is the context of some of the serious problems facing the way in which the alt/conspiracy community has been investigating and covering some important stories.

Breaking the Silence Silenced by RNC convention

The indispensable Israeli NGO Breaking the Silence has released a new report on children and youth in the Occupied West Bank.  Complete with video testimonies the new report paints a disturbing picture of the daily violence that the IDF inflicts on Palestinian children.  Now normally the American media would try their best to ignore this sort of report.  They may even try their best to some how portray this as yet another viscous anti-Semitic attack.  Lucky for the media the Republican National Convention will be eating up most of their time and energy.  So before you get all worked up over the RNC and DNC conventions take the time and read through the report.  If you cant read the whole report here are articles in The Independent, The Guardian and Ynet, all of which deal with the recent report.  When your watching the balloons falling from the convention arena ceiling, you may want to take a minute and think about how your tax dollars go to funding this decades long occupation.
