Porkins Policy Radio episode 172 The final word on the OJ trial with Pat McKenna and Brian Heiss

Filmmaker Brian Heiss and legendary private investigator Pat McKenna joined me for one final on the OJ Simpson case and trial. We talked mainly about the scientific side of the investigation. We talked about the LAPD’s Scientific Investigation Division which was in charge of all of the DNA evidence. Brian touched on the SID’s incredibly unprofessional and sloppy techniques. We talked about the incredibly high crime rate at the time in LA and the intense pressure the SID was under to deliver results. Pat and Brian focused on criminalists Dennis Fung, Collin Yamauchi, Andrea Mazzola, and Michelle Kessler. We talked about how they routinely contaminated and degraded key pieces of DNA evidence from the beginning of the investigation on June 13, 1994. We also talked about the larger impact that the SID had on the thousands of people sent to jail based on their erroneous tests. Later we talked about the the state of the criminal justice system and the long road ahead towards real reform.

Porkins Policy Radio episode 156 Catholic Church Cover Up with Ed Opperman and Brian Heiss

This week my guests are Ed Opperman and Brian Heiss. First, we covered the latest development in the #MeToo saga: the allegations that Asia Argento abused actor Jimmy Bennet. We discussed who may have leaked this to the New York Times and why. We also touched on the complexities of sexual abuse, and how many victims go on to victimize. The conversation then shifted to the recent Pennsylvania Attorney General report which investigated rampant sexual abuse in the state’s Catholic Church. We talked about our own experiences growing up Catholic. And the culture of abuse within the church and the disturbing levels to which the clergy covered this up.

In the second hour we took aim at Pope Francis and his record of hypocrisy in the mishandling child sex abuse. We touched on Francis’ protection of Cardinal Pell, his former number three at the Vatican, who is now facing charges of child abuse. I also mentioned that Francis presided over the funeral of disgraced Boston Cardinal Bernard Law. We also explored the culture of abuse within the church and the Vatican. Ed and I also explored whether these pedophile priests are men of God or using the cloth to gain access to vulnerable minors. Finally, we closed out with some breaking news on Michael Cohen and Paul Manafort.

NOTE: I got confused when talking about Yashar Ali. Ali was the person who dug up old pictures of Chelsea Manning hanging out with Jack Posobiec, Cassandra Fairbanks, Lucian Wintrich, and others.

Porkins Policy Radio episode 138 Kurt Eichenwald and Justin Berry Child Porn Scandal with Brian Heiss

Brian Heiss joins me today for another in-depth discussion discussion. We start off by touching on the recent gas attack in Syria and the bellicose rhetoric coming out of Washington. Brian and I discuss our issues with the claims that this was launched by Assad. We also talk about the Skirpal case and the recent appointment of John Bolton to National Security Adviser. Brian and I than turn out attention to Kurt Eichenwald, Justin Berry, and the child pornography scandal they were involved in. We start off by talking about Eichenwald’s latest misstep in the media and how this led us to finally cover his sordid past. We discuss his fight with one of the Parkland students and the subsequent fallout of that. Brian and I then dive into the Eichenwald’s story about teenage webcam pornographer Justin Berry. We start off by laying out the story that Eichenwald laid out several years ago in the New York Times. Brian and I then dissect this story piece by piece, exposing the many lies, omissions, and downright illegal things Eichenwald committed. We talk about the true nature of Justin Berry and his webcaming. Brian and I talk about Eichenwald’s involvement in Berry, including giving him $2,000 which he never disclosed to the NYT’s. We also touch on Eichenwald’s use of his epilepsy and “significant memory disruptions” as his excuse for not remembering key events and dates during the writing of this story.

In the second hour we dive even deeper into this story and the many nefarious people involved. Brian and I talk about Eichenwald’s open admissions to viewing and receiving child pornography from Justin Berry. Brian discusses the digital paper trail including PayPal payments and messages from Eichenwald talking about his ever increasing collection of porn from Berry. Brian also explains in depth how Eichenwald became an administrator to Berry’s website, and shows how the payment of $2,000 might have in fact been to get his dormant child porn site up and running again. We also discuss the abusers around Berry including Kenneth Gourlay. I talk about the way the media has portrayed Justin as both a saint and a devil. We talk about Debbie Nathan’s reporting in CounterPunch at the time, which did reveal a lot of truth about this story, but also didn’t seem to care that Justin was molested at age 13, and instead placed more blame on him than many of his abusers. We also touch on Nathan’s association with the National Center for Reason and Justice. Brian and I also bring in the Arnold and Jesse Friedman case, serious problems with repressed memory and satanic ritual abuse. We finish off by discussing tentacle porn, hentai, Japan’s low rate of child molestation, and the serious problems America has with sexuality and sex in general.

Porkins Policy Radio episode 132 Brain Heiss on Brett Cantor, Enty and Epstein, Andrew Cunanan murders

Good friend Brian Heiss of OJSimpson.co joins us once again for a wide ranging discussion. We start by talking about a bizarre revelation in Rose McGowan’s new book that she dated Ronald Goldman’s friend Brett Cantor. In her new book Brave McGowan talks about dating Brett Cantor when she was 19 years old. Brian talks about Brett Cantor and his nightclub the Dragonfly. A club that Goldman worked at as a party promoter, and a place that Nicole Simpson frequented. We discuss Cantor’s murder and the similarities it has with the murder of Nicole and Ronald. We also touch on the Michael Nigg murder, and the connections the three of those have with another murder of one of OJ’s friends down in Florida just before the Bundy murders took place. Brian and I also discuss why McGowan has not revealed this fact until now, the MeToo movement she helped kick start, and why we hope she will pursue her boyfriends killers. We then move on to a discussion of the popular blind item gossip site Crazy Days and Nights. We talk about how the site and it’s owner “Enty” has been way ahead of many important Hollywood stories including Harvey Weinstein. Brian and I focus on Enty’s long time reporting of Jeffrey Epstein and his crimes. We talk about some recent blind items talking about Epstein flying in porn stars to his private Island for orgies involving various arms traffickers. We discuss how much of Enty’s reports are to be trusted, and what Epstein appears to be up to. We also briefly touch on Bryan Singer and his alleged pedophilia.

In the second hour Brian and I discuss the murder of Gianni Versace by Andrew Cunanan, and the new FX show about the murder. Brian gives us an overview of Cunanan and his three month murder spree in 1997. Brian talks about Cunanan’s past, including his methamphetamine abuse and love of S&M. We talk about his brutal murder of Lee Miglin and some of the strange discrepancies and possible cover up by the Chicago police in that killing. Later Brian moves onto Cunanan when he arrived in Miami and killed Versace in broad daylight, and then his suicide on the house boat of Torsten Reineck. Brian discusses Reineck’s shady past as the King of Gay Bathhouses in Las Vegas and Miami, his connections to drug traffickers and the German equivalent of the DEA. Brian also lays out the theory that Reineck and Cunanan not only knew each other, but that Reinick may have hired him to kill Versace. Brian also talks about the fact that notion that Reinick may have promised to help Cunanan flee the county after the murder, possibly bringing him to his private island “Sealand” of the coast of the United Kingdom.

Porkins Policy Radio episode 98 Pat McKenna on OJ Simpson Timeline and Listener Questions

Pat McKenna joins us again for another in-depth discussion of the OJ Simpson trial and his first hand experiences investigating it. We begin by focusing on one of the most basic but largely overlooked aspects of the case: the timeline. Pat and I dissect the numerous problems with the prosecutions time line of events. Aside from their reliance on questionable characters like screenwriter Pablo Fenjeves, Pat and I break down how no one, let alone OJ could have physically committed these murders in the time allotted by the prosecution. Pat demonstrates that OJ would have had to have murdered both Ron and Nicole, driven home, banged on Kato’s air conditioner, dropped the glove, washed off all the blood, changed clothes, and gotten in the limo in roughly 22-25 minutes. Pat and I talk about the ways in which the prosecution leaned on and pressured witness to present their testimony in such a way as to fit into this rushed timeline. Pat and I discuss the fact that OJ and Kato went and around back to investigate the mysterious three thumps and at no point does either one of them see a glove or move a glove. We also focus on how the prosecution’s version of events often leads one to posit that there was a larger conspiracy in which one or more person’s helped OJ in the murder. Pat and I also talk about the need to approach the timeline in a logical manner.

In the second hour Pat and I discuss Brian Heiss’ timeline and present evidence that logically has the murders taking place much later than the 10:15pm clock that the prosecution claimed. We talk about Ron’s movements on the night on June 12, and show how he could not have left his house until 10:30pm at the earliest. Pat demonstrates how this would have Ron arriving at Nicole’s closer to 10:36 which lines up with ear witness Denise Pilnak. Pat and I also talk about the physical act of the murders which by all accounts was much longer than the prosecution wanted to admit. Pat also answers several listener questions including: who was the intended target, how do Brett Cantor and Michael Nigg’s murders fit in, the alleged break in of Jennifer Ameli’s office. Pat also talks about meeting with Anthony Pellicano who had been hired by Mark Fuhrman to acquire the infamous Fuhrman tapes, and the role that the now incarcerated PI played in the trial.

Porkins Policy Radio episode 88 A History of Media Manipulation from OJ to Syria with Brian Heiss

Frequent guest Brian Heiss joins me for an in depth discussion of the current state of the media, and their continued legacy of manipulation and deception. We begin our conversation by dissecting the bogus news story that OJ Simpson is set to make a reality TV show with Casey Anthony. Brian and I discuss now the genesis of this story is a TMZ article that determined that an OJ reality show was actually impossible to make at this current time. Brian describes how this TMZ article became the source for numerous mainstream media articles making the false claim that the reality show indeed happening. We dive into how this fake news became a viral and is now entirely accepted as fact. Brian and I then move onto how the OJ trial built the foundation for this trend in media. We talk about several lies about the trial that have become accepted fact because of peoples emotional desires to believe something that fits their world view. We discuss productions such as The People vs OJ Simpson and OJ: Made in America and how they have continued to exploit lies in order to craft their own version of the truth.

In the second hour we expand out on this topic and look at the ways in which the media manipulates crime both here and abroad to fuel ratings and revenue. Brian and I use the OJ trial and the false allegations by people such as Jill Shivley as an analogy for the current push for war in Syria. We examine how emotions and not evidence drive both the public’s opinions about OJ and Bashar al Assad. Brian and I also look at the increased number of true crime documentaries that knowingly manipulate our emotions with lies and how this is affecting our entire criminal justice system. We speak about this rush to judgment and trial by media circus and it’s relationship to events such as the recent chemical attack in Syria.

From Brian Heiss:

What if I told you that the most important and far-reaching story from the Trial of the Century has never been told?

In the People of the State of California v. Orenthal James Simpson there was only one item of evidence that Judge Lance Ito deemed “information that is of vital public interest”: the Mark Fuhrman Tapes.

The Fuhrman Tapes were a series of interviews that screenwriter Laura Hart McKinny conducted with LAPD Detective Mark Fuhrman over a 10 year period. McKinny was developing a fictional screenplay about women in the police department and to what extent they were successful working in areas of high crime. It was critically important for McKinny that the screenplay be as accurate and realistic as possible, to achieve this she conducted extensive interviews with multiple LAPD officers, ride-alongs and extensive research at the Los Angeles Police Academy.

For over 20 years the news media has reduced that Fuhrman Tapes to slogans: “The N-Word” and “The Race Card.” However the harsh reality is that the Fuhrman Tapes are about: Police Brutality, Racial Animosity, False Arrests, Coerced Interrogations, Police Misconduct, Racial and Economic Profiling, Planting Evidence and, the Use of the Chokehold by Law Enforcement.

Most people are unaware of this reality because unless you were in Judge Ito’s courtroom on August 29, 1995 or watching the live television broadcast of the hearing, you’ve never heard the Fuhrman Tapes. The complete presentation of the Fuhrman Tapes has never been rebroadcast on television or radio, no major newspaper or national magazine has ever published an complete, accurate, unedited transcript of the excerpts and to date audio of all of the excerpts is not available to the public on the Internet.

O.J. : VERITAS the Fuhrman Tapes is a feature length documentary (Runtime 115 minutes) which presents to the public the complete, unedited audio of the Fuhrman Tapes excerpts which have been hidden from history for over two decades. Using only archival footage O.J. : VERITAS the Fuhrman Tapes challenges the viewer to better understand the un-American manner which some Americans are treated by the justice system through a straightforward, commentary-free presentation of the facts about the Tapes and shares the opinions of both sides.

I am thrilled to provide the Porkins Policy Patreon supporters the opportunity to screen O.J. VERITAS : The Fuhrman Tapes. I believe that the last untold story of the O.J. Simpson saga, the Fuhrman Tapes, is potentially the most important and far-reaching.

I would be thrilled if you might share any feedback you might have (both positive and negative).

PPR Bonus podcast episode 2 Nicole Simpson 911 Call Revisited with Brian Heiss

911-call

For the subscriber only bonus podcast we are joined by return guest Brian Heiss to discuss his recent work on Nicole Simpson’s infamous 911 call from October 25th, 1993. This call has become a legend in the OJ saga; being portrayed for the last 22 years as definitive proof that OJ was in indeed a violent psychopath. For the last 22 years only a partial transcript and two and half minute audio version has been publicly available. For the first time ever Brian has provided the full 13 minutes of the 911 call in a digitally remastered version. Brian and I begin by discussing the glaring omissions in the transcript. We discuss the numerous references to Nicole’s drug use by OJ through out the 911 call. Brian and I talk about the general tone of the call. While the media has portrayed this as OJ freaking out on Nicole in a jealous rage, when listening to the whole call you can see that OJ sounds fed up with Nicole’s dangerous behavior. We talk about OJ’s anger over Nicole performing oral sex on Zeith Zlomsowitch while their kids are sleeping upstairs. How OJ warns her in the call about Keith’s alleged drug dealing and connection to Hollywood madame Heidi Fleiss. Brian and I also talk about how this changes not only the narrative of their tumultuous relationship, but how this might go towards explaining what transpired on June 12, 1994.

NOTE: Brian has not released this audio/video publicly. Brian intends to release this publicly in December. PPR subscribers have been given exclusive access to this 911 call. So please do not share this around or post on the internet.

Porkins Policy Radio episode 62 OJ Simpson Theories and Lies with Brian Heiss and Ed Opperman

Today we continue our series looking at the 21st anniversary of the OJ Simpson trial with return guests Brian Heiss and Ed Opperman. The three of us explore a wide variety of theories surrounding the case. We begin by looking at some of the false theories put out again and again by the media such as, Jason Simpson or Glenn Rogers as the killer. Next we move onto the issue of Joey Ippolito being behind the murder and his connections to all of the principle and secondary persons involved in the case. Brian explains some of his recent research into OJ friend Donald Soffer his connection to the Bronco chase, and to notorious drug trafficker Joey Ippolito. The three of us discuss what the Bronco chase may have really been about, and how this is still one of the least understood events of the case. Later we explore the role of celebrity culture in creating many of the personalities surrounding the trial. We focus particularly on Faye Resnick’s rise to stardom in the aftermath of the murder of her best friend. The three of us also discuss the role that domestic abuse played in the trial and in the public’s conception of what transpired on June 12 1994. As we round out the discussion we pick a part some of the media’s favorite false facts, such as OJ stopping his arthritis medicine, and how these have made their way into the public’s mind. We also manage to mention Trump and his various connections to OJ Simpson.
