Porkins Policy Radio episode 177 Dave Emory on Tulsi Gabbard, AOC, Hindu Facism and more

This week I was joined by legendary anti-fascist researcher and radio host Dave Emory. We started off the conversation by discussing the surveillance state and its influence on everyday life. Dave and I talked about Silicon Valley and the military and intelligence links behind the creation of the internet. We also touched on Snowden and his mysterious past and connections to right wing figures like Bruce Fein. Later we talked about Tulsi Gabbard and her popularity amongst many on the left. Dave discussed her connections to Chris Butler’s Hare Krishna cult and how this has played a role in many of her political positions. We talked about the racist past of Hare Krishna leader Prabhupada and his admiration of Adolf Hitler. Dave and I also talked about the larger fascist movement with in India known as Hindutva. We ended the conversation by talking about the rise of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez within the Democratic Party. Dave focused on her lack of true substance. He also talked about AOC’s chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, who was recently in a video wearing a shirt with the image of Indian fascist Subhas Chandra Bose.

Porkins Policy Radio episode 159 Inside Tesla, Solar City, and Elon Musk with Artisan Loaf

Long time listener and friend Nick aka @ArtisanLoaf joins me this week. We discussed Elon Musk, his various companies, and his strange and often bad business practices. We started off by talking briefly about Musk’s privileged upbringing in South Africa. We talked about Musk’s first big start with PayPal and his business relationship with Peter Thiel. We then moved onto Tesla and the way the company has been run. We discussed the poor business model that the company has employed under the leadership of Musk. Nick talked about the major financial problems that Tesla has had since Musk took over. We also touched on the problems with Musk’s vision for electric cars and the limitations that Tesla has imposed on themselves as a company.

In the second hour we talked about Musk’s shady acquisition of Solar City. We talked about the possible use of fraud when Solar City rolled out their non-existent solar roof panels. We also touched on the conflict of interest involved in Musk acquiring Solar City, and his pattern of similar behavior over the years. Later Nick talked about the recent SEC suit against Musk. He explained the serious problems that Musk has again created for Tesla. We finished off by touching on the concept of Musk as a cut-rate Howard Hughes, and the cult like devotion to Elon Musk and his vision for humanity. Nick will be returning to the show in a few weeks to expand on these ideas.

From Spy Culture:

I welcome back Pearse Redmond to talk about the sitcom Silicon Valley, which has just finished its second season.  Unlike most of the media we discuss on ClandesTime, this show was not state-sponsored, but it is inspired by real people and real events.  We talked about the main characters and what they represent, as well as the underlying themes including transhumanism and corporate cults.

The CIA and Hollywood episode 5 The Social Network

Thomas Sheridan joins us to talk about the 2010 film The Social Network, which tells the story of the origins of facebook.  We discuss the class struggle portrayed in the story, the mechanism by which the film could have been influenced by the CIA, the archetypes in the finely-produced melodrama that plays out, the CIA’s silicon valley network which is conspicuous by its absence from the narrative, and the meaning of the movie’s dark and brooding tone.  We also get into some unusual areas, including the mystery of the sub sandwich.
