Porkins Policy Radio episode 196 How to be a cult leader with Jon Atack and Sam Atack

This week Jon Atack and Sam Atack joined me to discuss their new videos series Think Like a Cult Leader. Jon and Sam described how their criteria for being a “successful cult leader” matches up with so many people currently in positions of power today. We also talked about Sam’s prank creation his own cult “The Unification Church of Saminanity” and how he was able to persuade 50 people to join. We then discussed the issue of impulsivity among cult leaders and how this affects their actions. We talked about how this behavior, and the trend of extreme boredom. We closed out the first hour by focusing on how this might influence future generations and cult groups alike.

In the second hour, we discussed the destructive influence of the Christian fundamentalist group “The Family” and their late leader David Coe. We talked about how the group developed a far-reaching influence in America and abroad. We finished off the hour by talking about the political situation in Xinjiang. We talked about the repression of Uighur’s and the use of re-education camps by the Chinese government. Jon and I discussed the cult-like devotion among the political left when discussing China. We also talked about the real threat of extremist groups like the East Turkestan Islamic Movement and how the Chinese government exploiting them.

Porkins Policy Radio episode 190 Black Budget with Folie a deux

This week Folie à Deux joined me to discuss Black Budget, the new comic series he wrote and illustrated. The discussion opened talking about the comic itself, which addresses mind control and MK Ultra. The history of MK Ultra and other government-sponsored programs fill the discourse and the book. We also discussed how this topic is covered in the alternative media and conspiracy culture. Later some of the hidden messages and Easter eggs throughout Black Budget are revealed. We also talked about the 1983 invasion of Grenada and the subsequent bombing of a mental hospital which some have suggested was a site of mind control experiments. Also discussed are the connections between Grenada and Jim Jones and many more real life easter eggs.

Open Minds On Air: Undue Influence in Pop-Culture Star Trek

From OpenMindsFoundation.org

In this month’s episode, Pearse is joined by Spike Robinson to launch a new series, “Undue Influence in Pop Culture,” where they plan to examine various popular movies, television series and books through the lens of undue influence and coercive control. This month, they compare and contrast two episodes of classic Star Trek: “Return of the Archons” and “A Taste of Armageddon.”

“Return of the Archons” is a classic example of how Hollywood portrays thought control or “brainwashing”, with a population of blissed-out automatons, only breaking out of tranquility for their purge-like Festival – a society completely under the control of a supercomputer, which was programmed six thousand years ago by the “savior” of their race, Landru. The people are glassy eyed and speaking in a strange, stylized sort of language, with no autonomy or independent thought.

However, it is in “Taste of Armageddon” that the real face of cultural coercion can be seen – for two planets fighting a mechanized, computer-calculated war, their cultures have become so tightly controlled that otherwise sane, rational people – people who talk normally and even persuasively about their “system” are so under the influence of their leaders that they will “willingly” step into vaporization booths, rather than face the indoctrinated phobia of what might happen to their world if they do not comply.

Using these two episodes as a starting point, Spike and Pearse discuss what mind control is, what it isn’t, and how our popular culture informs our opinions on this highly complex subject.

Porkins Policy Radio episode 108 Tom Secker on 9/11 Truth, Legacy of Al Qaeda, and Mind Controlled Hijackers

Tom Secker joins me for a discussion of the sixteenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. We begin by discussing our general emotions and thoughts on the actual anniversary. We discuss how it unfolds both here in New York and across the ocean in the U.K. Tom and I then discuss how 9/11 has evolved into a heavily scripted and predictable event over the past several years. We touch on how the attack is viewed without context, in terms of what actually happened and what followed it. Tom and I also talk about our own personal experiences navigating the 9/11 truth movement. We then move onto Tom’s recent podcast series dealing with history of Al Qaeda. We discuss the legacy of Al Qaeda today and how the group has become largely forgotten by the public. Tom and then debate where Al Qaeda and “Radical Islamic Terrorism” may be headed. I offer up the theory that we may be entering a reset in terms of Al Qaeda. I point to the recent events in both Turkey and Myanmar as examples. Tom offers up the idea that the real battle is between the US and Russia. We endure hour discussing the recent sonic attacks on CIA agents in Cuba, that have left them with hearing loss and mild brain damage.

In the second hour I talk about a pet theory of mine involving the 19 hijackers and the possible use of mind control or some form of mental conditioning. I use Timothy McVeigh as well as Sirhan Sirhan as a basis for my argument. I pay particular attention to the reports of the hijackers snorting coke in strip clubs, and ponder if this had something to do with the concept of mind control. I finish off by touching on why the 9/11 truth movement is reticent to discuss this concept.

Porkins Policy Radio episode 63 Legally Permitted Fascism: Jeffrey Augustine on Scientology

Today we are joined once again by Jeffrey Augustine of The Scientology Money Project and Surviving Scientology Radio. Jeffrey and I begin by discussing the actual intake process an individual goes through when first introduced into Scientology. Jeffrey breaks down this process from being approached by a “body-router” on the street, to your first auditing session and beyond. Jeffrey details the way Scientology uses four important and legally binding contracts to ensnare a new recruit. These contracts make it extremely difficult to sue Scientology, and essentially signify you giving up all rights to the cult. Jeffrey also explains the legal complexities of how Scientology operates as a franchised business. We talk about the legal definition of what a Scientologist is, and how the organization is structured, and why this is so important to them.

Later we look at how Scientology is evolving as a cult and the steps it is now taking to ensure its survival. We talk about how Scientology is desperately trying to portray itself as a humanitarian group through the use of various front groups. Jeffrey talk about how the group has begun to cozy up more and more to police departments through the use of their anti-drug groups. We discuss how this is all a cynical PR attempt to make Scientology look like a benevolent group while they continue to employ the destructive teachings of L. Ron Hubbard.

Trans Resister Radio ep. 124 Scientology and other Cults

From Age of Transitions:

In this interview Pearse Redmond shares some of his research and thoughts on Scientology and cults in general. What is a destructive cult, and why would anyone join one in the first place? A better question might be: what pseudo-cults have I, myself been involved in, and to what extent? Human nature is ours, but it is also the Garden from which the guru attempts to pick Forbidden Fruit.

Porkins Policy Radio ep. 28 California Cults with Aaron Franz

From Scientology to the Peoples Temple, the state of California is awash in prominent and powerful cults.  Our good friend Aaron Franz joins us to discuss this bizarre phenomenon.  We discuss several high-profile cults in the state and how they have influenced the people and culture of California.  Aaron and I break down Scientology and explore how a cult whose membership is made up mostly of high profile celebrities has become a powerful culture creator within society.   Aaron explains how groups such as The Process Church and The Summit Lighthouse use occult teachings within their cult when indoctrinating their members.  We also discuss how this is really the corruption of the occult for nefarious purposes.  Aaron and I also go into Jim Jones and The Peoples’ Temple, discussing how one cult leader was able to change the face of politics in San Fransisco.  We end by talking about yoga and veganism, and how both of these fads are also not only misunderstood, but are being used in a negative way.  This was an especially fun episode to record and is also filled with quite a bit of humor.

NOTE: My apologies for the audio issues through out the episode.  We had some internet connection problems.

Porkins on ClandesTime 033 True Lies and Reel Bad Arabs

I joined our good friend Tom Secker once again on ClandesTime for a very entertaining and in-depth conversation on the documentary Reel Bad Arabs and the Hollywood blockbuster True Lies.

From ClandesTime:

Pearse Redmond of Porkins Policy Radio joined us again to talk about the  the portrayal of Arabs in Hollywood.  We talk about the documentary Reel Bad Arabs, which details much of the stereotyping of Arabs in popular movies, and also the film True Lies as an example of these trends.  We look at some of the limits in the analysis offered by Reel Bad Arabs, the military involvement in making True Lies, and the careers of the actors who played the two main Arab characters in the film – Art Malik, who seems to specialise in playing terrorists, and Grant Heslov who won an Oscar for producing Argo.

Porkins Policy Radio episode 25 The Bowe Bergdahl Psy-Op

We are finally back!   On today’s episode we take a look at the recent release of American POW Bowe Bergdahl in exchange for 5 Taliban prisoners held at Guantanamo Bay.  Instead of focusing on the various theories as to why he left, and what he was actually doing, we dive into the psy-op that has been carefully constructed for us.  We discuss the predictive programing elements, how the alt media has been fooled yet again, as well as what this means in terms of the evolving war on our reality.  The Bowe Bergdahl saga represents a new stage of the blurring of reality and fiction and therefore deserves our attention.

This episode was a little rough to record due to the long gap in the podcasting schedule so my apologies if it seems a bit all over the place.  Rest assured we will be returning to a normal schedule and much tighter episodes in the near future.
