On this week’s episode we peel back some of the layers behind the TOR Project, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, and a man at the center of both, John Perry Barlow. We take a look at Tor’s longtime government funding and how this has helped shape the project. We investigate some of the project members such as Jacob Applebaum and Runa Sandvik, both of whom have played up their techno-activist street cred while simultaneously receiving massive salaries from the US government. Lastly, we take a critical look at the founder of the Electronic Frontier Foundation, John Perry Barlow, and make the case for his integral partnership in the Snowden/NSA psy-op. This is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of what is really going on with the NSA scandal, but hopefully this will open up the door for you to begin investigating for yourself.
I joined our good friend Tom Secker once again on ClandesTime for a very entertaining and in-depth conversation on the documentary Reel Bad Arabs and the Hollywood blockbuster True Lies.
Pearse Redmond of Porkins Policy Radio joined us again to talk about the the portrayal of Arabs in Hollywood. We talk about the documentary Reel Bad Arabs, which details much of the stereotyping of Arabs in popular movies, and also the film True Lies as an example of these trends. We look at some of the limits in the analysis offered by Reel Bad Arabs, the military involvement in making True Lies, and the careers of the actors who played the two main Arab characters in the film – Art Malik, who seems to specialise in playing terrorists, and Grant Heslov who won an Oscar for producing Argo.
We are finally back! On today’s episode we take a look at the recent release of American POW Bowe Bergdahl in exchange for 5 Taliban prisoners held at Guantanamo Bay. Instead of focusing on the various theories as to why he left, and what he was actually doing, we dive into the psy-op that has been carefully constructed for us. We discuss the predictive programing elements, how the alt media has been fooled yet again, as well as what this means in terms of the evolving war on our reality. The Bowe Bergdahl saga represents a new stage of the blurring of reality and fiction and therefore deserves our attention.
This episode was a little rough to record due to the long gap in the podcasting schedule so my apologies if it seems a bit all over the place. Rest assured we will be returning to a normal schedule and much tighter episodes in the near future.
I recently had the great pleasure of joining the one and only James Corbett again. This time around James invited me for his podcast series Film, Literature, and the New World Order for a discussion of the film Charlie Wilson’s War.
“How and why did the Afghan-Soviet war start? What was the CIA’s involvement in the affair? Who did they support and what were they aiming at? If you’re interested in the answers to these questions you won’t find them in 2007′s Hollywood drama, Charlie Wilson’s War, but you will hear them discussed on this podcast. Join us today for another edition of Film, Literature and the New World Order as Pearse Redmond of Porkin’s Policy Review joins us to dissect the propaganda and predictive programming of this CIA-Afghan cover up movie.”
Recently the spokesman for Michoacan’s Autodefensas, Dr. Jose Juan Mireles Valverde, spoke to a gathering of people in Caleta de Campos. The speech is important on a number of levels; chief among them is that this is actually Dr. Mireles speaking in his own words. Mexican and English language media have routinely distorted Mirele’s words and persona since the autodefensas movement began.
A recent guest on the podcast, Danny Benevides, of Traces of Reality, translated the entire speech into English. If you are not familiar with Dr. Mireles, or the autodefensas, I would urge you to check our in-depth conversation and then read the speech in its entirety.
This week’s episode was a long time in the making, but it is one that I am especially proud of. I had on Tom Secker and Jon Ryman to discuss Jon’s superb film White Widow- The Samantha Lewthwaite Conspiracy. I would encourage everyone to go and watch the film first, as there is so much detail that Jon goes into. The three of us discuss the origins of Samatha Lewthwaite; from her birth in Northern Ireland during the troubles, to her “conversion” to Islam and subsequent betrothal to 7/7 bomber Germain Lindsay, and later to her supposed place of importance with in Al Shabab in Somalia. We explore the notion that Lewthawaite may not have ever been in Kenya, one of her alleged bases of operations, and instead may be part of a much larger and complex intelligence operations. We also discuss the Westgate shopping mall attack and how Lewthawaite was erroneously connected to it, as well as the geopolitical implications of the recent uptick in violence in Kenya and the African continent in general. We round of the conversation with a look at how the War on Terror has blurred fiction and reality. This is another long podcast that deals with a subject that is little understood and deserves more attention.
“This is for all of us poor people that were not invited to participate in this years Bilderberg meeting in Copenhagen.”
The PPR political cartoon is finally back. For this special Bilderberg edition we have a gorgeous 6 panel comic. If you enjoy the PPR Political Cartoon then please visit my sister Emma’s website Red House for more artwork.
Our good friend Tom Secker has recently launched a brand new website called Humanarchy. The site deals with both philosophy and politics, and like all of Tom’s work, will prove to be very interesting and worth your time. The above video is the first open source intelligence broadcast. It deals with the upcoming propaganda film based on Glenn Greenwald’s new book detailing his relationship with Snowden and the leaking of documents he acquired from the so-called whistle blower. As with all of Tom’s work he presents a concise and informative piece that details what is really going on. For the sources that Tom references and more click here.
For today’s episode I was joined by Traces of Reality contributing editor Danny Benevides. Danny and I had an extended conversation on some of the most recent events regarding the drug war south of the border. Danny explains what the vigilante movement in Michoacan, know as the autodefensas, is doing to combat the rising tide of cartel violence. We also explore how the autodefensas movement may be being co-opted by the new PRI government headed by Enrique Pena Nieto as well as foreign actors. Danny breaks down the history of the cartels in Michoacan state. Danny explains how La Famila splintered off into Los Caballeros Templarios, and how average citizens decided to take action against them. We also discuss the recent uptick in violence in the northern state of Tamaulipas and how this relates to the “capture” of Sinaloa cartel leader El Chapo. We round off the conversation by discussing actor Kevin Spacey’s $8 million dollar selfie with Pena Nieto and what this means for the future of Mexico.
On today’s episode we spoke with independent analyst and researcher Christoph Germann. Christoph runs the invaluable blog, The New Great Game, which deals with Central Asia, the Caucus region as well as regional powers. We discuss the very troubling trend of knife and bomb attacks occurring in the Xinjiang region of China. Christoph explains what is at stake for China as well as the western powers when it comes to this oil-rich geo-strategic region. We also explore the situation in Azerbaijan. Christoph explains how CIA puppet Fethullah Gulen and his Islamic movement have entrenched themselves in the nation in much the same way as in Turkey. We round off the conversation by discussing Gladio B and how Azerbaijan has been used as a base of operations for NATO and there roving band of mujahedin fighters, both in the 90’s and now in Syria. Lots of information in this one, so please go to the show notes.
