Tom Secker of Spy Culture joins me to discuss the season 7 premiere of Homeland. We start off by giving a quick recap of the previous season which saw a faction of the deep state attempt to assassinate President Elect Elibazeth Keane. Tom and I then dive into this season, which breaks with Homeland protocol, and picks up 52 days after the events of season 6. We talk about where we are: President Keane locking up the supposed coup plotters, Carrie trying to expose her overreach, and Brett O’Keefe trying to “tell the truth.” We discuss our general thoughts on this griping first episode and discuss why we are excited for the season progression. We then move onto one of the main themes of this season, the various characters defense and love of the state. Tom and I look at Carrie and Saul and how they represent the “good” CIA trying to restore democracy and civil liberties. We talk about the clever way show runner Alex Gansa and the CIA have inserted this idea without even mentioning the agency once. Tom and I also talk about my favorite character Brett O’Keefe, also known as Alex Jones. Later on we explore the real world parallels that Homeland is introducing including: fractured political state, the threat of an omnipresent deep state after the president, and how Homeland mimics the way families are being torn apart by Trump’s America.
In the second hour Tom and I talk about the interesting mention of 4chan by O’Keefe. I also talk about my theory that they are obliquely referencing Qanon in this episode. We then move onto the climactic scene where coup plotter General McClendon is assassinated inside a federal prison. Tom and I theorize as to who was behind this. I lay out my theory that this may have been a third unknown actor, most likely the Russians. Tom and I finish off by touching on a very revealing interview Alex Gansa gave to Variety. We talk about Gansa’s comments that the CIA is working with the New York Times and the Washington Post, as well as his own reference to the deep state going after Trump. I round out the episode by going off about the recent cornstarch anthrax letter that was sent to Donald Trump Jr. I talk about Jack Posobiec’s idiotic comments and lack of historical knowledge about the government orchestrated 2001 Anthrax attacks, as well as Julian Assange’s claims that he received a letter with white powder.

I talk about the numerous armchair investigators that continually repackage old material as breaking news when it comes to this case. I go into detail about Claude Taylor, a low level Clinton administration employee, and his claims about both Trump and Epstein. Ed and I talk about the problems with Taylor’s story and his bizarre background. I also touch on his relationship with Louise Mensch and Taylor’s claims of having a source within Eric Schneiderman’s office. Later I talk about the media cycle of a Jeffrey Epstein story and offer my theory and analysis as to how and why they happen the way they do. I also talk about the rehabilitation of Alan Dershowitz and his meeting in Mar A Lago with Trump shortly after coming into office.
In the second hour Ed and expand the conversation and talk about the political crisis in Turkey, , Jared Kushner and his shady dealings with Qatar, how Trump destroyed the USFL, and the dynastic ambitions of the Trump and Kushner family. Ed and I end by touching on the recent ban on Trans soldiers and how the Pentagon is responding to it.
In the first hour I am joined by JP Sottile of News Vandal for an in-depth conversation on the growing scandal involving Donald Trump Jr. We begin by touching on the latest person to have been in the infamous meeting, Ike Kaveladze, and his connection to a 2000 Congressional investigation into Russian money laundering operations. JP and I go beyond the headlines and try to decipher what this meeting might have actually been about. We offer up a more straight forward narrative that this was a meeting about corruption and payoffs. The two of us discuss the attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya’s links to Russian oligarchs and to a recent money laundering case that was recently settled in her clients favor, and how the specter of Donald Trump loomed in the background. JP and I also look back to the 1990’s and a similar scandal involving the Clinton’s and the Chinese government. Later JP and I discuss the horrifying proposal by Jared Kushner and Steve Bannon have to privatize the war in Afghanistan. JP tells us about the two men who will help lead this charge, Erik Prince of Black Water, and Stephen Feinberg of Cerberus Capital which owns DynCorp. We talk about their nightmare vision for the complete privatization of warfare and nation building. JP discusses how this is actually the natural progression of the American economic and political system, and how Donald Trump is the natural man to usher this in.

We start by taking a step back and looking at how both the mainstream and alternative media have used this recent scandal to their benefit. Robbie and I address the claims made by morons like Cernovich that this is all a deep state operation. We also explore the forgotten story of the seizure of two Russian spy facilities and the expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats (spies) by the Obama administration in December 2016. Robbie and I discuss how this story has been nearly forgotten by the media yet it represents an extremely important moment in both the Obama and Trump presidencies. The two of us talk about how the facilities have yet to be turned back to the Russian’s despite their pleas with Trump. Robbie and I explore how serious an action this is and how Trump has been put into a very difficult spot by all of this. Robbie also gives us the latest updates on the ever evolving neoconservative movement. We discuss the closing down of the neocon think tank The Foreign Policy Initiative and where the movement may be headed.
