Frequent guest and friend of the show Robbie Martin joined me this week. We started off by discussing Reddit’s recent quarantining of 23 subreddits. We focused on their quarantine of the 9/11 Truth subreddit. We talked about the specific language that was used for 9/11 Truth about misinformation, and that the fact that no other quarantines specified misinformation. Robbie talked about the levels to which 9/11 Truth has been stifled in the past few years. We also contemplated the role of open source and crowd sourced research in today’s political landscape. We talked about Bellingcat’s role as a open/crowd sourced outlet and if this is the preferred model of western governments. Robbie also touched on Bellingcat’s role in the Skripal Poisoning Saga. We talked about Bellingcat’s recent report identifying some of the alleged GRU agents involved in the operation.
In the second hour Robbie talks about the new film The Magnitsky Act: Behind the Scene. We discussed the history of Magnitsky and his partner Bill Browder in the context of the New Cold War. I closed out the show by answering a listener question about some of the most important books in my life.
This week I discussed the recent banning of Alex Jones on several tech platforms from two different perspectives. In the first hour Robbie Martin joined me to discuss the negative aspects of this. We talked about the dangers of censorship and what this may mean for the future of alternative media. Then we addressed the latest on the ever evolving Qanon saga. Robbie and I inquired how this may be related to the banning of Jones.
In the second hour Jon Gold joined me to talk about why Alex Jones got what he deserved. We discuss why Apple, Facebook, and other companies were justified in banning Jones from using their platforms. Jon discussed Jones’ history as a 9/11 and conspiracy profiteer, and his recent lawsuit against Sandy Hook victims. We talked about the dangers of social media. Jon and I also touched on patriotism in sports and why we, personally, can’t watch football and baseball anymore.
Robbie Martin joins us for an in-depth look into the most recent saber rattling between the US and North Korea. We start off by talking about the general hysterical political rhetoric that we see here in the US. Robbie and I touch on the size of Trump’s nuclear button as an example. Next Robbie and I explore the strange stories that emerged just before the new year talking about North Korea’s anthrax weapon program. Robbie and I talk about the Ashai Shimbun article that kick started the bogus story, as well as the multiple reports of a North Korean defector with anthrax antibodies in his system. Robbie talks about the problems with this narrative and its similarities to the 2001 Anthrax Attacks. We also look into the science behind these claims and debunk the notion that you can even house anthrax in an ICBM. Later Robbie and I talk about the anti-war movements continued decay, and the lack of voices speaking out against the threat of war in North Korea. Robbie talks about the difficulties in defending the North Korean people. We talk about the ways in which they have become so demonized that most average people could care less if they were murdered by the US military.
In the second hour Robbie discusses his work looking into the 2001 Anthrax Attacks. We discuss how they have fallen off as a topic of discussion and research. Robbie talks about the widespread use of Cipro during this time, and the dangers of using antibiotics unless you are truly sick. We also talk about whistleblower Matt DeHart and his connection to the anthrax investigation. Later Robbie and I dive head first into the latest iteration of Pizzagate by looking into “Qanon”. We discuss what the QAnon story is, its origins, and how it is just the latest example of controlled opposition. The two of us explain why this should not be taken seriously, and look into the sad state that the MAGA movement finds themselves in.
In the first hour I am joined by JP Sottile of News Vandal for an in-depth conversation on the growing scandal involving Donald Trump Jr. We begin by touching on the latest person to have been in the infamous meeting, Ike Kaveladze, and his connection to a 2000 Congressional investigation into Russian money laundering operations. JP and I go beyond the headlines and try to decipher what this meeting might have actually been about. We offer up a more straight forward narrative that this was a meeting about corruption and payoffs. The two of us discuss the attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya’s links to Russian oligarchs and to a recent money laundering case that was recently settled in her clients favor, and how the specter of Donald Trump loomed in the background. JP and I also look back to the 1990’s and a similar scandal involving the Clinton’s and the Chinese government. Later JP and I discuss the horrifying proposal by Jared Kushner and Steve Bannon have to privatize the war in Afghanistan. JP tells us about the two men who will help lead this charge, Erik Prince of Black Water, and Stephen Feinberg of Cerberus Capital which owns DynCorp. We talk about their nightmare vision for the complete privatization of warfare and nation building. JP discusses how this is actually the natural progression of the American economic and political system, and how Donald Trump is the natural man to usher this in.
In the second hour Robbie Martin joins me as we flesh out some of the topics brought up by JP and myself. We start by taking a step back and looking at how both the mainstream and alternative media have used this recent scandal to their benefit. Robbie and I address the claims made by morons like Cernovich that this is all a deep state operation. We also explore the forgotten story of the seizure of two Russian spy facilities and the expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats (spies) by the Obama administration in December 2016. Robbie and I discuss how this story has been nearly forgotten by the media yet it represents an extremely important moment in both the Obama and Trump presidencies. The two of us talk about how the facilities have yet to be turned back to the Russian’s despite their pleas with Trump. Robbie and I explore how serious an action this is and how Trump has been put into a very difficult spot by all of this. Robbie also gives us the latest updates on the ever evolving neoconservative movement. We discuss the closing down of the neocon think tank The Foreign Policy Initiative and where the movement may be headed.
Tom Secker and Robbie Martin join me for a very wide ranging discussion on everything from Reality Winner to Dennis Rodman. Tom and I start off the conversation by talking about the Wikileaks Twitter account tweeting about our issue on The American Journal of Economics and Sociology. We talk about the obvious divide right now between Assange and Wikileaks not just in terms of Twitter, but in terms of their media strategy. The three of us then dive into the bizarre case of NSA leaker Reality Winner. We theorize as to whether she is a true leaker, or a truly disgruntled employee. We discuss the possibility that Winner was set up to leak, and if this is really a move by the Trump administration to ward off future potential leakers. Robbie and Tom also touch on the strange behavior of The Intercept and how they mismanaged this entire story and their lack of protection of Reality Winner.
In the second hour we ponder the question as to whether Reality Winner represents a bookend to the celebrity culture of leakers and whistleblowers. We take a close look at Chelsea Manning and her recent media interviews. The three of us talk about the media’s obsession with Manning as a trans celebrity, and the ways in which they have sexualized and fetishized her since her release from prison. We discuss how the media has largely ignored or forgotten the true reasons for why she was imprisoned in the first place: leaking thousands of government documents. We talk about the notion that Bradley Manning and the actions associated with him are now dead and therefore are no longer a topic of discussion among the media. We round out the conversation by talking about Dennis Rodman’s most recent trip to North Korea. We talk about the possibility that Rodman is being used as either a back-channel or some form of intermediary between Kim Jong-Un and US intelligence. Robbie, Tom, and I also touch on the cryptocurrency Potcoin which has sponsored Rodman’s trip to the Hermit Kingdom.
Today I spoke with Media Roots co-host (and filmmaker behind “A Very Heavy Agenda”) Robbie Martin. Robbie and I talk about the seemingly improbable rise of the Neocons and the impact they are having on the election cycle. We discuss the Neocon love-fest going on right now with Hillary Clinton, as well as their disgust with all things Trump. Later, we explore the DNC leak and throw in a few of our theories about who might have been behind it. We also consider the notion that Putin and Trump are working together. Robbie and I also discuss the sad decline of the Libertarian Party, and Gary Johnson’s embrace of neocons such as Jeb Bush. We close out with an examination of the rumors (speculations) that Bill Clinton is dying and Hillary Clinton is on drugs.
We are joined once again by our good friend Robbie Martin to discuss the final part of the film trilogy “A Very Heavy Agenda.” Robbie and I begin by discussing the film series as a whole, and its overarching themes. We then move on to how the neocons operate within the larger deep-state apparatus, touching on how the neocons are able to influence and control the foreign policy agenda through the use of only a handful of experts and policy makers.
Later we explore the role of “hipster propaganda” by looking at the increasingly influential role of Vice Magazine in indoctrinating young people into the neocon mindset. Robbie and I talk about the early days of Vice, and the lasting effect Gavin McInnes has had on the culture and political ideologies the news outlet spreads. We talk about Vice’s bizarre approach to politics: making the president look hip and cool, spreading anti-Russian hatred, and spreading neoliberal and neocon talking points to young people.
Next we move on to the current state of affairs within the neoconservative movement. Robbie and I discuss our views on the neocon influence within the Obama administration. We explore the idea that Obama may have tried to curb some the more psychotic foreign policies decisions put forth by those like Bob Kagan. I relate my pet theory that Obama was attempting to help the CIA by ridding them of some Bush era cronies. We finish off the conversation with a look at the 2016 election. We discuss how the neocons’ racist rhetoric is very much to blame for the rise of Donald Trump, and how Trump is very much an unexpected creation of the neocon agenda, even though he disagrees with them on several keys issues. We also talk about the the latest re-branding efforts which have led the neocons to embrace Hillary Clinton.
After the podcast I answer my first every Patreon subscriber question, and thank everyone who donated this month. I also talk about my new radio show due to start this Tuesday, from 4-6pm EST on American Freedom Radio.
We are joined once again by our friend Robbie Martin to discuss the latest installment of his documentary series A Very Heavy Agenda. In part two, How We Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the New Neocons, Robbie picks up where he left off by exploring the rise of a new breed of neocons. Robbie and I discuss how deeply entrenched with in the media this new brand of neocon has become. Going beyond the likes of Bill Kristol and think tanks, the neocons have now infiltrated organizations such as The Daily Beast, Buzzfeed, Vice, and other media outlets. We go into great detail about the orchestrated “resignation” of Russia Today’s Liz Wahl. We explore the idea that she was a neocon mole and break down who Jamie Kirchick and the Foreign Policy Initiative was behind this media stunt. We also discuss the new brand of intellectual neocon’s such as Peter Pomererantsev, and how the neoconservative agenda is becoming even more influential and powerful then under the Bush administration.
On this episode we are joined by musician, radio host, and film maker Robbie Martin. The two us discuss Robbie’s soon to be released film, A Very Heavy Agenda: A Catalyzing Event. The first of a three part film series, A Very Heavy Agenda deals with the neo-conservative movement and the impact that it has had on American politics and world events. Beginning with the 9/11 and anthrax attacks Robbie brings us through the powerful intellectual group that has altered geopolitical history. We explore the neocons as an intellectual force in America and how their premier group, Project for a New American Century, acts as the political arm for the Deep State. We pay particular attention to the Kagan family, which is deeply enmeshed with in the American Deep State. We also discuss how the neocon agenda has destroyed much of the anti-war movement. Robbie and I also dive into how the real agenda behind this intellectual movement is about destroying Russia and maintaining perpetual warfare, and not about Islamic Terrorism, oil or anything else. Later we discuss the resurgence of the neocons and the rise of the “hipster neocons.” Robbie explains where they went and how they have come back with a vengeance.
