In the first hour JP Sottile joins me to break down the recent Trump-Putin Summit in Helsinki. We start off with Trump’s recent reversal on comments he made stating that Russia didn’t interfere with the election. JP and I then get into the press conference itself and pick apart some of the major takeaways. JP talks about Bill Browder and Putin’s allegations about him and Hillary Clinton. We also talk about the strange “dry mouth” that Trump appeared to have during the presser and explore Trump’s possible health problems. I also ask JP about his strange comments regarding Israel. JP offers up his own analysis of this, diving into the geopolitics of Syria and Russia. We finish off by talking about the possibility that the US is seriously planning regime change in Iran. JP and I focus on the recent actions of the MEK, the bogus bomb plot in Paris, and Russia’s desire to ensure that Iran is not an energy powerhouse in the region.
In the second hour Aaron Franz joins me to discuss Elon Musk’s latest PR disaster. We talk about his insane tweets accusing diver Vern Unsworth of being a pedo, and his disastrous attempt to save the Thai soccer team with a mini-submarine. Aaron and I explore Musk’s cult of personality and his savior complex. We discuss the concept that Musk is both a modern day super hero and villain. Aaron talks about the hyperreailty of Musk and the Marvel Universe as well. We finish off the conversation touching on insane billionaire in general and the strange place they hold in our society.
JP Sottile joins me in the first hour to discuss the recent airstrikes by the US, UK, and France in Syria. We discuss how this is nothing new for the Trump administration, and how in fact this latest airstrike comes almost on the anniversary of Trump’s earlier strike after the alleged use of chemical weapon. JP and I also discuss how this latest attack appears to have targeted three sites which were completely evacuated and probably were known of in advance. JP talks about the theater that was involved in this latest military action, including Trump’s idiotic use of the phrase “mission accomplished.” We then break down the media’s hyping of this event as a prelude to WWIII. JP and I present several reasons for why this is nothing more than bluster meant to drive traffic on websites. We also explore the notion that this is really the last hurrah of the American Empire. We talk about the decline of US power and their inability to maintain such a large global empire. I talk about the how France has begun filling this imperialist vacuum more and more in Africa.
In the second hour Robbie Martin joins me to breakdown the ever changing narrative of the Skirpal poisoning. We talk about how this fits into the larger context of what we are seeing geopolitically particular with regard to actions in Syria. Robbie talks about how Theresa May wove Skirpal into her decision to help bomb Syria over the weekend. Later we move onto the latest explanation which comes from Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov that the Skripal’s were exposed to BZ. Robbie explains what BZ is and the history of the US governments experiments with the chemical. We also mention the State Department cable that mentions the possibility of BZ having been used in Syria. The bizarre claim by former KGB operative Boris Karpichkov that Skripal is connected to the murder of GCHQ’s Gareth Williams is also discussed. We end by talking about the danger of these sorts of operations and the rhetoric that is produces within society.

I talk about the numerous armchair investigators that continually repackage old material as breaking news when it comes to this case. I go into detail about Claude Taylor, a low level Clinton administration employee, and his claims about both Trump and Epstein. Ed and I talk about the problems with Taylor’s story and his bizarre background. I also touch on his relationship with Louise Mensch and Taylor’s claims of having a source within Eric Schneiderman’s office. Later I talk about the media cycle of a Jeffrey Epstein story and offer my theory and analysis as to how and why they happen the way they do. Robbie and I discuss how this story has been nearly forgotten by the media yet it represents an extremely important moment in both the Obama and Trump presidencies. The two of us talk about how the facilities have yet to be turned back to the Russian’s despite their pleas with Trump. Robbie and I explore how serious an action this is and how Trump has been put into a very difficult spot by all of this. Robbie also gives us the latest updates on the ever evolving neoconservative movement. We discuss the closing down of the neocon think tank The Foreign Policy Initiative and where the movement may be headed.
In the first hour Tom Secker joins me to discuss the season premier of Homeland season six. We talk about the season reboot which has become a ubiquitous feature of Homeland. Tom and I begin by discussing our initial impressions of the season and where we think the show is going on a political and emotional level. Next we move onto one of the new and most interesting characters in the show, President-elect Elizabeth Keane, the junior Senator from New York. We talk about how this character is not a character of Hillary Clinton as we and any others predicted, but instead a much more complex character which in many ways is closer to Donald Trump. We discuss the ideas and politics that the CIA is putting forth in this new season. Tom and I talk about how the notion of the CIA plotting against the president-elect is not only a major story line in Homeland but also in real life vis-a-vis Trump and the CIA. The two of us also talk about the idea that this season of Homeland will retell and reinvent the story of Al Qaeda. We explore the possibility that this is the overarching story the CIA wants to put out the the public, and that a new form or wave of jihadi attacks may be in-store for the West.

For the first PGG bonus podcast Christoph and I start off by discussing Russia-US relations in the age of Trump.
