Porkins Policy Radio episode 176 Ricardo Vaz on Venezuela and the Naked Imperialism of the US

Ricardo Vaz of Venezuelanalysis.com joined me to discuss the ongoing regime change operations in Venezuela. We stared off by discussing the recent return of so called “interim president” Juan Guaido after his visit to several Latin American including Colombia and Brazil. Ricardo talked about the muted response from Maduro, who allowed Guaido to return with out a fuss after being banned from international travel. Ricardo also talked about the response on the ground in Venezuela to Guaido’s return, and the fact that he appears to be losing some momentum as a political leader. We also talked about Guaido’s recent travel where he was allegedly scolded by US Vice President Mike Pence in Venezuela. Ricardo and I also broke down some of the wild statistics that figures like Guaido and John Bolton have been bandying about. We focused on the claims of 600 army defections and 20,000 Cuban intelligence operatives working inside Venezuela. We also touched on the devastating impact of the sanctions on medicine like insulin and the bridge-aid standoff . We fished off the conversation by discussing some of the other opposition figures including Leopoldo Lopez, Julio Borges, and Juan Requesens.

Porkins Policy Radio episode episode 148 Isa Blumi – Destroying Yemen Part 1

This week professor Isa Blumi joins me for an in-depth discussion of the economic and geopolitical history of Yemen. We cover the period between the mid 1800’s all the way through to the early 2000’s. Isa talks about the forgotten history of Yemen through out the conversation. We discuss Yemen’s role as a bulwark against imperialism, from its earliest days fighting against the British East India company to American oil conglomerates. Isa talks about North Yemen’s role as a progressive nation that supported everyone from the George Habash to Che Guevara. We also discuss South Yemen’s Marxist history as well. Isa also talks about the deliberately obscured fact that Yemen is rich in oil, gas, and other natural resources. Isa describes how work and regional powers have long sough to subjugate and control Yemen’s immense wealth through economic and conventional warfare.

Porkins Policy Radio episode 139 Syria Strikes, Skripal Poisoning with JP Sottile and Robbie Martin

JP Sottile joins me in the first hour to discuss the recent airstrikes by the US, UK, and France in Syria. We discuss how this is nothing new for the Trump administration, and how in fact this latest airstrike comes almost on the anniversary of Trump’s earlier strike after the alleged use of chemical weapon. JP and I also discuss how this latest attack appears to have targeted three sites which were completely evacuated and probably were known of in advance. JP talks about the theater that was involved in this latest military action, including Trump’s idiotic use of the phrase “mission accomplished.” We then break down the media’s hyping of this event as a prelude to WWIII. JP and I present several reasons for why this is nothing more than bluster meant to drive traffic on websites. We also explore the notion that this is really the last hurrah of the American Empire. We talk about the decline of US power and their inability to maintain such a large global empire. I talk about the how France has begun filling this imperialist vacuum more and more in Africa.

In the second hour Robbie Martin joins me to breakdown the ever changing narrative of the Skirpal poisoning. We talk about how this fits into the larger context of what we are seeing geopolitically particular with regard to actions in Syria. Robbie talks about how Theresa May wove Skirpal into her decision to help bomb Syria over the weekend. Later we move onto the latest explanation which comes from Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov that the Skripal’s were exposed to BZ. Robbie explains what BZ is and the history of the US governments experiments with the chemical. We also mention the State Department cable that mentions the possibility of BZ having been used in Syria. The bizarre claim by former KGB operative Boris Karpichkov that Skripal is connected to the murder of GCHQ’s Gareth Williams is also discussed. We end by talking about the danger of these sorts of operations and the rhetoric that is produces within society.

Porkins Policy Radio episode 87 MLK Assassination 49 Years Later with Doug Valentine

Doug Valentine joins me to discuss the 49th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. We begin by discussing Doug’s involvement with the King families civil case against alleged co-conspirator Loyd Jowers. Doug talks about how and why he was hired by King family lawyer William Pepper and the aspects that he was tasked with investigating. Doug discusses his time in Memphis interviewing witnesses to the crime, some of whom had never been questioned by police. Doug also describes the bigger meaning behind Kings murder, and how it represented the everyday murder of black Americans through out the country. We then move on to some of the specifics of the case itself. Doug and I explore some of the core pieces of evidence that point to a larger government conspiracy. Doug talks about Loyd Jowers and his connection with alleged assassin James Earl Ray, as well as how Ray was able to flee the country and travel around on fake passports. Doug describes how the Memphis police detail guarding King was removed and how at least one undercover police officer, Marrell McCollough, was inserted into the King entourage. Doug also goes into detail about the allegations that US Army personnel were stationed in the near by firehouse in order to film the assassination. Doug also touches on mafia involvement in the assassination, and the links this has to the CIA. We finish off the first hour by talking about the importance of the 1999 civil trial against Loyd Jowers. Doug and I talk about the significance of a jury being able to come to the conclusion that the government was capable of conspiring to murder Martin Luther King.

In the second hour I talk about a few more intriguing aspects of the King assassination. I talk about Reverend Billy Kyles bizarre Freudian slip in which he appears to admit foreknowledge of the murder. And I also elaborate on Marrell McCollough and the fact that he later worked for the CIA. I finish off the episode by discussing King’s greatest and most controversial speech, Beyond Vietnam. I talk about the significance of King’s assassination taking place on the one year anniversary of Beyond Vietnam. I also talk about King’s message that poverty, racism, materialism, and militarism are all intrinsically linked to one another. I finish off by discussing how the media has white-washed the legacy and radicalism of Martin Luther King.

Meet James Kirchick: Neocon propagandist

20140307-131500.jpg

By now I am sure we have all heard about the resignation of Liz Wahl, and the public condemnation of Putin by Abby Martin. Both worked/work for Russia Today, and both have created a media storm here in the west. Apparently Liz Wahl just discovered that she was working for a Russian government-funded news outlet and was shocked, shocked I tell you, to discover that they had a bias towards Russia. Liz Wahl, of course, got her start interning for the always fair and balanced Fox News. In the background of these stories has been an American propagandist neocon by the name of James Kirchick. Kirchick has been seen in recent days on the three letter corporate controlled news outlets spewing all sorts of lies and slander. He took to MSNBC to call Abby Martin an “out and out lunatic” for questioning the official conspiracy theory of 9/11, and for thinking that industrial fluoride put into our water supply is detrimental to our health. My god, what a nut she is!

His other little pet project has been helping out his fellow neocon Liz Wahl, and going to RT America’s headquarters and calling everyone there a Kremlin puppet. So I though a little background on Kirchick was in order.

Kirchick is first and foremost  an American propagandist. He formerly worked for Radio Free Europe. For anyone unclear, RFE is a US government-funded “media outlet” that takes it’s direction from the State Dept. and CIA. Since then Kirchick has gone on to work for Bill Kristol’s neocon think tank “Foreign Policy Initiative.” Kirchick also has the honor of being a former fellow at another neoconservative think tank called the Foundation for Defense of Democracy. FDD loves democracy so much that it appointed former Director of CIA James Woosley as chairman. And if that’s not enough, Kirchick writes for the corporate-owned Daily Beast.

James Kirchick rose to the spotlight on Wednesday August 21, 2013 when he appeared on RT to discuss the sentencing of Pvt. Manning. You’re asking why was Kirchick invited on in the first place? Well he had just penned a cute little article in the NY Daily News saying that Manning deserved the death penalty for his actions. During the interview, instead of defending this psychopathic idea, Kirchick started attacking Russia and RT in regards to the anti-gay propaganda law. Much to his chagrin he wasn’t cut off immediately, and was allowed to talk for around two minutes. Later off air he was caught saying he only went on RT to “fuck with the Russians.”

In a nutshell Kirchick is no different than those on RT that tow the Kremlins line. He lives in a warped reality where the great and free America must confront the evil oppressive Russia. This mentality is not only dangerous but idiotic. In geopolitics there are rarely good guys and bad guys. By painting the situation in Ukraine as black and white Kirchick ignores the complexities of what is going on. Boiling down the new iteration of the Cold War to good versus evil makes any action by the US seem justified no matter how reckless it may be. Kirchick believes that all US military interventions are good and all Russian ones bad. That is, of course, the same notion we hear from Russia. Furthermore James Kirchick is nothing but a hypocrite. His defense of gay rights only extends to those who don’t hurt his fake image of the “Land of the Free.”

What is happening right now in Ukraine is very serious. Listening to ideologues on either side of the conflict is dangerous. Rather than call for peace the power elite in both Russia and America call for military action. They use their minions like James Kirchick to whip people up into a war frenzy where anything goes. So don’t listen to them. For that matter don’t listen to me. Listen to yourself and your own moral values. War is wrong, ALWAYS. As Randolph Bourne eloquently stated “War is the health of the State.” And right now the State is very healthy.

Porkins Policy Review episode 16 The imperial conquest of Libya with Eric Draitser

On this week’s episode we talk with Eric Draitser of Stopimperialism.com.  We discuss the current reality of Libya as it stands three years after the NATO-led war which destroyed what was once the richest and most prosperous nation in Africa.  Eric and I break apart his recent article entitled “The Secret War in Libya”, which delves into the various developments beginning to take form in the south of the country between the Green Resistance and black Libyan tribes.  Rounding out the conversation is a discussion on the role of AFRICOM and its role in helping to destabilize and colonize Africa.  This is a jam packed podcast with a lot of very important information for anyone concerned about the West’s imperial agenda.
