Journalist and filmmaker Joseph L Flatley joined me to discuss his latest book Satan Goes to the Mind Control Convention: Manchurian Candidates, Recovered Memories, and the Dark Side of Conspiracy Culture (and other stories). We start out by discussing why Joseph decided to write a non-fiction book this time around. Joseph also explained his precise definition of conspiracy theory and conspiracy theorists that is used throughout the book. Joseph and I then moved onto the topics that take up the first half of the book, the recovered memory community and the theory of wide spread Satanic Ritual Abuse perpetrated by the CIA and aliens. We focused on one of the leading charlatan’s in this field Dr. Colin Ross. We talked about the toxic practices that Ross and other employ on their mainly female victims. Joseph used the case of Roma Hart as a template to explain how Ross implants false memories of abuse. Later we talk about the creepier aspects of Ross’ “therapy” which infantilizes women and turns them into children. Joseph also touched on the role that Lucien Greaves and the Satanic Temple have done in exposing many of these dangerous practices. We also discussed Ross’ connections to Scientology.
Later we talked about the broader issues related to conspiracy theory that Joseph bring up in the book. We discussed the rise of right-wing populist conspiracy theory and the role that is playing in everyday life. Joseph talked about his idea that conspiracy theorists are the canaries in the coal mine of society. We closed out the conversation by talking about Robert Bowers and the Tree of Life shooting in Joseph’s native home of Pittsburgh.
Frequent guest and friend of the show Robbie Martin joined me this week. We started off by discussing Reddit’s recent quarantining of 23 subreddits. We focused on their quarantine of the 9/11 Truth subreddit. We talked about the specific language that was used for 9/11 Truth about misinformation, and that the fact that no other quarantines specified misinformation. Robbie talked about the levels to which 9/11 Truth has been stifled in the past few years. We also contemplated the role of open source and crowd sourced research in today’s political landscape. We talked about Bellingcat’s role as a open/crowd sourced outlet and if this is the preferred model of western governments. Robbie also touched on Bellingcat’s role in the Skripal Poisoning Saga. We talked about Bellingcat’s recent report identifying some of the alleged GRU agents involved in the operation.
In the second hour Robbie talks about the new film The Magnitsky Act: Behind the Scene. We discussed the history of Magnitsky and his partner Bill Browder in the context of the New Cold War. I closed out the show by answering a listener question about some of the most important books in my life.

This week I discussed the recent banning of Alex Jones on several tech platforms from two different perspectives. In the first hour Robbie Martin joined me to discuss the negative aspects of this. We talked about the dangers of censorship and what this may mean for the future of alternative media. Then we addressed the latest on the ever evolving Qanon saga. Robbie and I inquired how this may be related to the banning of Jones.
In the second hour Jon Gold joined me to talk about why Alex Jones got what he deserved. We discuss why Apple, Facebook, and other companies were justified in banning Jones from using their platforms. Jon discussed Jones’ history as a 9/11 and conspiracy profiteer, and his recent lawsuit against Sandy Hook victims. We talked about the dangers of social media. Jon and I also touched on patriotism in sports and why we, personally, can’t watch football and baseball anymore.
In the first hour Keelan Balderson of WideShut.co.uk joins us to talk about the truth behind Tommy Robinson’s arrest and the media circus that surrounds it. Keelan explains the legal reasons for why Robinson was held in contempt of court. He also discusses how Robinson posed a serious threat to the criminal case he was pretending to “expose.” Keelan talks about how Robinson’s actions could have actually helped the alleged pedophiles get off. Keelan and I discuss the Rotherham and Rochdale child sex ring scandals and the real journalists and activist’s who uncovered it. We also explore the history of Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon, aka Tommy Robinson, aka Andrew McMaster, aka Paul Harris. Keelan explains the circumstances where Tommy grew up in Luton. Including the extremist cult group Al Muhajiroun and their connections to the security services, and the connections between far right football hooligan groups and the security services. Keelan and I also discuss the history behind the English Defense League and the role that extremist Zionist groups have played in its formation.
In the second hour Robbie Martin of Media Roots and A Very Heavy Agenda joins us to discuss the latest developments in the ongoing Qanon saga. Robbie tells us about the recent break-up Alex Jones and Jerome Corsi had with their once beloved Q. We talk about how Qanon has continued to evolve both in substance and influence. Robbie lays out his theories for Q being a person or persons working directly for Trump himself. We also talk about the way that Qanon has been able to cultivate a massive following of rabid supporters, who will essentially do whatever is asked of them. Robbie and I also touch on how Qanon has helped to humanize lunatics like John Bolton and Rudy Giuliani. Robbie also gives us his take on Giuliani’s latest pronouncement about Trump being able to kill James Comey and get away with it.
On this solo show I discuss the Vegas Shooting and Stephen Paddock. I start off by talking about the Vegas Police and their track record as being unprofessional and trigger happy. The allegations that the police didn’t help evacuate the concert, and that the cover up my stem from their failures are explored. I then begin laying out the facts as we know them about the shooting, Paddock and Marilou Danley. I look into the ever changing narrative, including the latest development regarding hotel security guard Jesus Campos. Then I explore Stephen Paddock and try to make sense of who he was. I look at the reports that he was a mean loner type person, as well as an avid gun enthusiast. I pay particular attention to his obsessive gambling habits and the odd life of a compulsive gambler. Later I discuss his girlfriend Marilou Danley and try to make sense of their relationship. The first hour ends with me looking at some of the more interesting points of this investigation including: what happened beginning in October of 2016 and his fathers criminal background.
In the second hour I take a hard look at the media’s role in crafting this story. I explore how both the the mainstream and conspiracy media are working hand in hand in presenting us a confused and contradictory narrative. I talk about how the media is selling us not just the shooting but literally selling us advertisements. I also discuss why the mainstream and conspiracy media enjoy having complete explanations to any event. I finish off by discussing Paddock’s apparent gambling addiction and ponder if this didn’t play a larger role in the shooting. I talk about the lifestyle of gamblers, the problems they face, and how this effects their views on reality. I also touch on the transhumanist aspects of being “one with the machine” that many addicts of video slots embrace. I ask the question if gambling addiction and the casino’s are two big culprits in what transpired on October 1st 2017.
Ed Opperman joins me today for a special PPR podcast on the Las Vegas Shooting. Ed tells us about the night in question, giving us a first hand view of what was happening in Vegas. Ed talks about the unprofessional nature of the Vegas police department. We discuss how this led to massive confusion and many of the early reports of multiple shooters and multiple incidents all over the strip. Ed also touch on Vegas police corruption, their tendency to overreact. We talk about some of the stranger theories that have emerged in the past few days on social media, and try our best to decipher them.
Ed and I also talk about some of the strange details of Stephen Paddock’s life including: his father, gambling practices, and his girlfriend Marilou Danley. We also talk about the need for calm when it comes to situations like this.
This week I am joined by Robbie Martin and Pearse Redmond to review and analyse the low budget conspiracy thriller Operation Terror. We analyse the plot – where a member of the Council on Foreign Relations recruits a CIA officer to prepare and carry out the 9/11 attacks – and why this is unrealistic. We note several examples of how the film incorporates elements from all over 9/11 conspiracy lore, but especially from Pilots for 9/11 Truth, one of the more wacky parts of the ‘truth’ movement. We ask whether the film is fan service for 9/11 truthers, and conclude that it reflects and represents a lot of the real characteristics of the 9/11 movement. This is a lengthy and very funny discussion that you won’t want to miss.

We discussed Stanley Kubrick’s relationship with conspiracy theories and secret societies and whether the film is a warning about them, or whether he enjoyed promoting these sorts of theories.
