On this special thirtieth episode of Porkins Policy Radio we welcome back Sibel Edmonds and Tom Secker for a roundtable discussion of The Lone Gladio and Operation Gladio B. Tom starts us off by exploring some of the themes brought out in The Lone Gladio with respect to main character Greg McPhearson; will we ever see a “rogue agent” within the CIA take on the agency? How does the oft-used concept of “blow-back” fit in with the murder of Greg’s lover Mai? Sibel discusses in detail the problems with blow-back as they exist in popular discourse, and explains how unintended consequences of covert operations are almost always intended by those implementing them. Later we move on to the endgame scenario for Operation Gladio: Sibel explains how the “Pakistanization” of Turkey is in fact a goal of the Gladio Deep State network. Sibel talks about how beneficial it is to the Gladio operators to have a weak and divided Turkey. We discuss the new face of ISIS, Georgian-born jihadi Tarkhan Batirashvili and his striking similarity to one of Sibel’s characters in The Lone Gladio, Yousef Mohammad, as well as the real life story of Ayman al Zawahiri. Rounding out the conversation is Sibel’s analysis of the current geopolitical situation with Russia and NATO. On this week’s episode we had the great pleasure of speaking with the one and only Sibel Edmonds of Boiling Frogs Post. Sibel is, of course, a former FBI linguist and whistle-blower who had the draconian State Secrets Privilege enacted against her, essentially classifying her entire life. Sibel joined us to discuss her brand new novel, The Lone Gladio, which elaborates on many subjects discussed in her memoir Classified Woman: The Sibel Edmonds Story. This modern spy thriller deals exclusively with the Deep State and the secretive NATO/CIA/MI6/Pentagon program know as “Operation Gladio B.” Sibel and I discuss her decision to portray the CIA characters not as James Bond-style heroes, but as the dark, complicated, and often brutal people they truly are. Sibel also goes into detail about the geopolitical aspects of her new novel, which we explore, including how nations such as Georgia (featured prominently in The Lone Gladio) are being used by NATO and Gladio operatives as a launching ground for false-flag terror in Russia and around the globe. We also go into how Gladio B came about in the early 1990’s. Sibel explains how language, culture and religion were manipulated in Central Asia and the Caucus region in order to create the very terror groups that we claim to be fighting today. On this month’s episode we take a look at the increasing violence in Xinjiang as well as the ISIS connection within the Uyghur separatist movement, and take a look at the recent Shanghai Cooperation Organization conference in Tajikistan. Later we examine some of the recent attempts by the government of Azerbaijan to crack down on the Gulenist movement with in the country. Christoph and I explore how the national oil and gas company of Azerbaijan, SOCAR, may be quietly reopening many of the Gulen-funded schools that were recently closed. We also touch upon the the claim that ISIS captured a SOCAR fuel tanker in Syria, and talk about the twentieth anniversary of the signing of the “Contract of the Century.” We conclude the podcast with an exploration of the ambush of Saudi Prince Abdul Aziz bin Fahd this summer in Paris. This story received almost no media coverage, despite the theft of over $300,000 and diplomatic documents from one of the prince’s cars. Abdul Aziz bin Fahd is of course a high-profile royal official who has been linked to terrorism in Syria, and to billionaire and former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri.

We take a look at how white female terrorists have been portrayed in Hollywood movies and TV shows, and examine how these cartoonish representations mimic real life white female terrorists. We, of course, take a look at one of our favorite white female terrorists, Samantha Lewthwaite, as well as the less known, but equally important, “Jihad Jane.” We discuss the celebrity status of the white female terrorist in Western society, and how this meme really represents the coming together of several different aspects of the war on terror. We also speak more broadly about the ever-evolving synthetic War on Terror and how all these pieces fit together.

This week’s episode was a long time in the making, but it is one that I am especially proud of. I had on Tom Secker and Jon Ryman to discuss Jon’s superb film White Widow- The Samantha Lewthwaite Conspiracy. I would encourage everyone to go and watch the film first, as there is so much detail that Jon goes into. The three of us discuss the origins of Samatha Lewthwaite; from her birth in Northern Ireland during the troubles, to her “conversion” to Islam and subsequent betrothal to 7/7 bomber Germain Lindsay, and later to her supposed place of importance with in Al Shabab in Somalia. We explore the notion that Lewthawaite may not have ever been in Kenya, one of her alleged bases of operations, and instead may be part of a much larger and complex intelligence operations. We also discuss the Westgate shopping mall attack and how Lewthawaite was erroneously connected to it, as well as the geopolitical implications of the recent uptick in violence in Kenya and the African continent in general. We round of the conversation with a look at how the War on Terror has blurred fiction and reality. This is another long podcast that deals with a subject that is little understood and deserves more attention.
On today’s episode we spoke with independent analyst and researcher Christoph Germann. Christoph runs the invaluable blog, The New Great Game, which deals with Central Asia, the Caucus region as well as regional powers. We discuss the very troubling trend of knife and bomb attacks occurring in the Xinjiang region of China. Christoph explains what is at stake for China as well as the western powers when it comes to this oil-rich geo-strategic region. We also explore the situation in Azerbaijan. Christoph explains how CIA puppet Fethullah Gulen and his Islamic movement have entrenched themselves in the nation in much the same way as in Turkey. We round off the conversation by discussing Gladio B and how Azerbaijan has been used as a base of operations for NATO and there roving band of mujahedin fighters, both in the 90’s and now in Syria. This week we are joined once again by our good friend Tom Secker to discuss one of Tom’s favorite movies, the black comedy Four Lions, which revolves around of group of young men living in Sheffield England who decide to become suicide bombers . If you have not seen the film, then please go to the show notes and click on the link and watch it. It will blow you away and will make this conversation much more enjoyable. Tom and I discuss the way the film deconstructs many of the familiar terrorism memes and cliches, and presents us with a side that we never, ever see. We explore the many similarities between Four Lions and the 7/7 terror attacks, including the notion that the whole movie may be revolving around an MI5 operation. We round off the conversation by looking at how this film humanizes people whom we would generally write off as fanatical murders.
Eric Harroun, the 31-year-old former US Army soldier who fought in Syria, has died suddenly of an apparent drug overdose. Harroun made international headlines with his constant stream of videos from inside Syria, praising the rebels, denouncing Assad and taking part in the fighting.
Ignored in the corporate media, and glorified in the pseudo-alternative media, is that both Harroun and his father claimed he worked for the CIA.
Harroun even went so far as to say that the CIA told him where in Turkey he could procure weapons.
To some degree this parallels the subject of our most recent podcast; CIA mercenary Mathew VanDyke. This is especially apparent by both VanDyke and Harroun’s vocal admiration for John McCain. The two stories diverge in that VanDyke has been praised openly in America, while Harroun was prosecuted by the FBI. This begs the question: why?
As of now there are too few details with to go from. In theory the autopsy should tell us more about how his death occurred. Unfortunately, in these sorts of cases the autopsy generally comes to the conclusion that the government wishes it to. If one had to speculate, though, it seems as if Harroun might have been the sacrificial lamb. Increasing evidence pointing to America’s involvement in funding radical groups in Syria and the moderate rebels’ alignment with them has forced the US to portray themselves as opposing these elements. By going after Harroun the power elite can pretend to the public that they are still committed to combating international terrorism. Simultaneously, they can funnel arms and money into the hands of groups such as Al Nusra. This type of selective enforcement raises questions about how and why Harroun suddenly died. Complicating this matter further is the plea deal that Harroun signed which allowed him to escape a possible sentence of life in prison for three years probation and a one hundred dollar fine. We will of course continue to report on any developments in the sudden death of Eric Harroun.
