Friend of the show, Pearse Redmond, returns to talk a bit about some of the stories that are currently flying under the radar. As the story goes, Americans are being attacked by some form of cricket warfare in Cuba. Are John Bolton and the Canadians hoping this aggression will be enough to successfully push for regime change in Venezuela?
Michael Swanson joined me this month to discuss the ongoing political and economic crisis facing Venezuela. We talked about the United States efforts to overthrow President Maduro and replace him with the unknown Juan Guaido. Michael and I talked about the history of US backed coups in Central and South America. Michael and I discussed the economic warfare against Venezuela, including the looting of gold by the Bank of England. We also talked about the role that neocon lunatic John Bolton has played. We talked about the so called “Troika of Tyranny” and if this represents the direction of Trump’s foreign policy and legacy.
Ryan Carey joins me this week for an in-depth discussion of Nick Drnaso’s latest comic Sabrina. We started off the conversation on a totally unrelated matter and discussed the recent reporting on former CIA operative turned Batman writer, Tom King. We then shifted back Sabrina and the way it captures the bleak reality that so many of us find ourselves enmeshed in. Ryan and I discuss the books plot which revolves around the murder of a young woman named Sabrina, how two friends Teddy and Calvin deal with it, and the role that conspiracy theory plays throughout. We discussed the themes of isolation and intimacy within the conspiracy culture portrayed by Drnaso. Ryan and I also talked about how the book breaks so many literary norms including the concept of “Chekhov’s gun.” We explored the two male characters Teddy and Calvin, breaking down how both of them are essentially unlikable man children wallowing in their own self loathing. We finished off the conversation by looking at some of the broader issues raised in the book. Ryan also talked about the increased popularity of independent comics that encapsulate the bleak reality in the age of Trump.
JP Sottile joined me in the first hour to discuss the current political climate and the soon approaching 2020 Presidential election. We talked about the possibility of Trump not running in 2020 and the potential Republicans that might take his place. JP floated the idea of both John Kasich and Nikki Haley running. Later we talked about the seemingly endless list of Democrats lining up to take the nomination. JP and I touch on Kamala Harris, Beto O’Rourke, Mitch Landrieu, John Hickenlooper, Julian Castro, Kirsten Gillibrand, and Joe Biden. We discussed the multitude of political problems with these potential candidates, and the shift within the Democratic party. JP also touched on the rise of figures like Ocasio Cortez who may represent the first real step towards true democratic-socialism. We also discussed what the true role of William Barr will be while acting Attorney General and the decline of the Trump wing of the GOP.
In the second hour Robbie Martin joined me to break down one 2020 presidential hopeful, Tulsi Gabbard. Robbie explained how Gabbard is wrongly being trotted out as the anti-war/ anti-interventionist candidate in 2020. Robbie talked about Gabbard’s support of torture and her neoconservative views on terrorism and the War on Terror. We touched on her anti-Muslim Hindu nationalist rhetoric and how that contributes to her hawkish views. Robbie and I also talked about the response from the left which has been to praise Gabbard as some sort of peace loving dove who will stop all the foreign wars. We also touched on the recent moves by the US to overthrow Maduro in Venezuela. Robbie and I talked about Venezuela being a true litmus test for anti-imperialists. We end by talking about Gabbard’s bizarre views on gay rights and what supposedly made her a defender of the LGBTQ community.
First The author of The War State talked about the evolution of alternative media in the financial sector. Chuck explains this should be no shock to anyone following the trials and tribulations of his odyssey through the matrix of modern media.
There seems to be opposition, controlled opposition, and establishment motivations no matter the focus of the media asset. Does the Ochelli Effect fit into any category? Does Michael Swanson’s work? What is the price paid by honest media producers who do not design their presentations to fit the prejudice of the easily amused?
Pearse Redmond then stepped into the fray to discuss levels of priority placed upon false and legitimate crisis level events. The strange adventures on the African continent were also discussed as the US Empire continues to Empire.
All the MSM offers is headlines of recycled non-sense, the alleged alternative offers more creative and exceedingly greater levels of delusion, The Ochelli Effect and all we bring to you are as honest as we can make it.

We discussed several high profile cases involving the ISSTD, including the murder of Jude Mirra by his mother Gigi. Lucien talked about Gigi’s use of the ISSTD’s Dr. Ellen Lacter. We talked about Lacter’s role in Jude’s death and how the ISSTD handled it. We we also discussed why so many of the psychiatrists and mental health professionals that employ these dangerous methods are still able to practice medicine. We also touched on conspiracy figures such as David Shurter and Fiona Barnett who have made whole careers out of spreading lies about satanic ritual abuse. We talked about the idea that many of these alt-lite figures are actually fading away. We discussed Ross Douthat’s repulsive article Why we miss the WASPs and the rehabilitation of war criminals like George HW Bush and Dick Cheney. JP and I explored what this means for America going forward. We round out the conversation by again looking at some positives like the momentum of figures like Ocasio-Cortez and others. I also brought up the strange revelation that white supremacist Jean Francois Griepy took $25,000 from Jeffrey Epstein in 2014.
