Porkins Policy Radio episode 113 Michael Swanson on Ken Burns Vietnam Propaganda

Michael Swanson, the author of The War State, joins me for an in-depth discussion of the Ken Burns and Lynn Novick Vietnam documentary series. I begin the conversation by discussing my own fascination with the Vietnam War. I talk about the influence my father has had on my understanding of the war, touching on his experiences with the army when he was drafted in 1969. Michael and I then dive into the film itself. We look at some of the serious flaws and aspects that the we felt were left out with the film including the CIA and drug trafficking. Michael and I dive deeper into the bizarre narrative that Burns and Novick craft, whereby the politicians and military leaders are never shown actually making policy decisions, but instead are shown as making bad choices with good intentions. Michael and I explore this concept in some depth and offer up our own reasons for why the Vietnam war was not started “in good faith by decent men.” Michael and I also critique the way in which the Gulf of Tonkin Incident is handled in the film. We explain how the film avoids admitting that the whole incident was made up and instead repeats an outright lie.

In the second hour Michael and I talk about some of the government talking heads that appear in film such as: John Negroponte, Leslie Gelb, Rufus Philips, and Donald Gregg. We explore their backgrounds and the destructive impact they had on the Vietnamese people. I talk with Michael about the Phoenix Program which is only briefly touched on in the whole series. We explore why Burns and Novick lay most of the blame of the Phoenix Program at the feet of the Vietnamese. Michael also elaborates on this by talking about the negative portrayal of the Vietnamese through out the film. We pay particular attention to North Vietnamese leader Le Duan and South Vietnamese leader Ngo Dinh Diem. Michael and I also discuss the documentaries skewed version of the assassination of Diem, and how yet again the CIA is almost completely airbrushed out of it. Michael and I touch on Lucien Conein’s integral role in the assassination as well as heroin trafficking. We also discuss the CIA’s war in Laos and discuss the overarching agenda behind the film. Michael and I also talk about the impact of Vietnam and its parallels with the Iraq and Afghan War.

Porkins Poliy Radio episode 112 Stephen Paddock, Vegas Shooting, and Lack of Logical Thinking

On this solo show I discuss the Vegas Shooting and Stephen Paddock. I start off by talking about the Vegas Police and their track record as being unprofessional and trigger happy. The allegations that the police didn’t help evacuate the concert, and that the cover up my stem from their failures are explored. I then begin laying out the facts as we know them about the shooting, Paddock and Marilou Danley. I look into the ever changing narrative, including the latest development regarding hotel security guard Jesus Campos. Then I explore Stephen Paddock and try to make sense of who he was. I look at the reports that he was a mean loner type person, as well as an avid gun enthusiast. I pay particular attention to his obsessive gambling habits and the odd life of a compulsive gambler. Later I discuss his girlfriend Marilou Danley and try to make sense of their relationship. The first hour ends with me looking at some of the more interesting points of this investigation including: what happened beginning in October of 2016 and his fathers criminal background.

In the second hour I take a hard look at the media’s role in crafting this story. I explore how both the the mainstream and conspiracy media are working hand in hand in presenting us a confused and contradictory narrative. I talk about how the media is selling us not just the shooting but literally selling us advertisements. I also discuss why the mainstream and conspiracy media enjoy having complete explanations to any event. I finish off by discussing Paddock’s apparent gambling addiction and ponder if this didn’t play a larger role in the shooting. I talk about the lifestyle of gamblers, the problems they face, and how this effects their views on reality. I also touch on the transhumanist aspects of being “one with the machine” that many addicts of video slots embrace. I ask the question if gambling addiction and the casino’s are two big culprits in what transpired on October 1st 2017.

Porkins Policy Radio episode 111 Keelan Balderson on Parsons Green attack and Global Strategy of Tension

Keelan Balderson of Wideshut.co.uk joins me once again to discuss the ongoing wave of terrorist attacks in the UK. We focus on the recent failed bombing in the Parsons Green tube station on September 15th. We begin by looking at the bombing itself and the media and governments rush to claim this was another TATP bomb. Keelan and I talk about this strange new trend in UK terrorism where all bombs seem to use this volatile substance. We then discuss the alleged bomber, Ahmed Hassan, and his seemingly quiet life in Surrey. Keelan and I touch on his foster parents and what made him leave Iraq at the age of 16. We then move onto the question of whether or not Hassan was known to MI5 or any other security services. Keelan talks about this new idea being put out by the government of the “known wolf” attacker. We also look at the use of CCTV footage in this case, and focus on some of the major questions it brings up about Hassan and the bomb. Keelan also discusses the strange allegations leveled at Amazon.com as well as the “hoax – everything is fake crowd.” We finish off by touching on the Cressida Dick’s calls for more police funding and her connection with the murder of Jean Charles de Menezes after 7/7.

In the second hour I discuss my theories on the evolution of Gladio style operations I try to lay out how this wave of low level attacks in Western Europe and America fit into the strategy of tension that Gladio sought. I also explore the over-used term Gladio B, and give my reasons for why it is not actually a continuation of Gladio. I then look at the recent mass shooting in Las Vegas and why I believe that regardless of motive, the event will be manipulated and used in the ongoing strategy of tension in the US. I attempt to lay out how the Vegas Shooting fits into the original mold of Gladio.

PPR Bonus Podcast ep 10 House of Cards Series One with Tom Secker

The wait is finally over. Tom Secker and I are covering the House of Cards Trilogy. In part one of our three part series we introduce everyone to one of our favorite tv shows. We first discuss the setting of the show and the decision to portray the Tory Party in a less than pleasant light. Next Tom and I discuss our favorite characters, and go into depth on why Roger O’Neil is so amazing in those first series.

We then explore the shows use of sex and taboo topics such as incest. We talk about Mattie’s distressing Elektra Complex as well as Urquhart’s own aristocratic desires to sleep with his daughter. Tom and I discuss how this shapes both characters and contributes to Urquhart’s rise to power, and Mattie’s ultimate downfall. We also take a look at the media’s portrayal in the first series. Tom breaks down the strange relationship the media have with politicians in Britain. We close out by teasing the next series, To Play The King.

Quick Note: there are no spoilers for either To Play The King or The Final Cut. Tom and I also strongly encourage you to watch the first series before listening to this podcast.

Porkins Policy Radio episode 110 Pat McKenna on OJ’s parole, bloody socks, and Bruno Magli shoes

Legendary private investigator Pat McKenna joins me once again to discuss our favorite topic, the OJ Simpson trial. We start off by discussing OJ’s imminent release from Lovelock Prison on parole. Pat and I address several of the misconceptions and falsehoods when it comes OJ’s convictions for armed robbery and kidnapping. Then Pat and I move onto the media’s barrage of bogus and misleading stories related to OJ and his release on parole. We talk about the the Goldman families PR machine pushing the idea that Justin and Sydney are receiving money from OJ for real estate deals, and how this is based on nothing.

Later Pat and I answer and address several questions from UK listener Simon. First we tackle Marcia Clark’s erroneous statement that Fuhrman couldn’t have framed OJ because he wouldn’t have know OJ had no alibi. We then dive into Clark’s statements on EDTA being found in your blood naturally and explain how this is a gross miss-characterization of the true facts. Pat and I then discuss the blood evidence on the socks and back gate. We talk about not only that EDTA was found on those samples, but explore how these are two are part of the larger plot by the police to frame OJ Simpson. Pat and I finish off by tackling one of the most asked questions by OJ detractors: What about the Bruno Magli shoes? We break down the major problems with the alleged photo’s, how they came into possession of Dan Petrocelli, and the truth over whether or not OJ actually owned them. Pat and I also talk about how the general public has convinced themselves of certain “facts” in the case even when they turn out to be totally false.

Stephen Singular joins me today to discuss his first book Talked to Death: The Murder of Alan Berg. We begin by talking about controversial radio host Alan Berg. Stephen explains how he went from a Chicago based lawyer, to one of the most popular radio hosts in the nation. We discuss Berg’s confrontational style of talk radio which covered everything from race, politics, sex, religion, to the love of his Airedale dog. Stephen and I then move onto the far right neo-nazi group The Order, which would assassinate Berg on June 19, 1984. Stephen explains how this tiny group of white nationalists would commit 240 crimes including: counterfeiting over half a million dollars, robbing nearly $4 million from banks and Brinks trucks, and murdering 5 individuals. Stephen and I discuss how The Order grew out of Richard Butler’s Aryan Nations group. We talk about the Christian Identity movement and the impact they had on nearly everyone in the Order. Stephen and I also explore how the The Order’s inability to keep up with the changes of the 1980’s had a huge impact on their reactionary politics. We talk about how The Order’s founder Bob Mathews was able to channel this rage into the group.

In the second hour Stephen and I talk about our current state of affairs and the legacy that The Order and the white power movement is still having. Stephen discusses the trajectory of the movement from The Order to Mark Fuhrman, and lastly to Donald Trump. We also look at Charlottesville and role that mental health can play in these Troyes of violent attacks.

Later I talk about how Alan Berg’s legacy has continued to make an impact on me. I talk about the importance and beauty of talk radio as well. I also explore the legacy of The Order and how the governments response to them has been a prototype for another right groups. I look at Ruby Ridge, Waco, as well as the fire bombing of far left group MOVE. I also update the listeners on the imminent return of Porkins Great Game, Patreon Bonus podcasts, and a possible sponsor of the show.
